September 23, 2005 – Kevin Roberts, owner of Par 4 Custom Golf in Roslyn, PA, has been recognized as the 2005-2006 Pennsylvania Clubmaker of the Year by the Golf Clubmakers Association (GCA). The award will be presented at the 2005 GCA International Conference in Austin, TX, on October 8, 2005. In addition to his recent award, Roberts is also certified as a Class A Clubmaker by the Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society.
Golfsmith, the founders of the GCA in 1980, received hundreds of nominations for the award. Each application is reviewed by a panel of company officials and clubmaking experts who judge the application on a number of factors. Among them is professionalism, dedication to furthering the art of clubmaking, and the ability of the club maker.
“The GCA Clubmaker of the Year award acknowledges the best clubmakers in the business and is one of the industry’s highest honors,” said Golfsmith Vice President Ken Brugh, who served on the panel of judges. “This award recognizes Mr. Roberts’ ability, integrity, and professionalism.”
