Graphite Design's G-Tech shafts offer the average weight that the majority of golfers are looking for — they're neither too heavy nor too light. The iron shafts' trajectory aids in increaced distance for players with slower, smoother swing speeds.

Graphite Design Unveils G-TECH Shaft Line
Available in Models for Woods, Irons; Designed to Optimize Clubmaking Flexibility
(SAN DIEGO, California) - Graphite Design International ("GDI") - maker of some of the most widely played graphite driver shaft models on the PGA TOUR - today announces the availability of its G-TECH combination-flex custom clubmaker series of wood and iron shafts, designed for exceptional playability throughout the bag.
The G-TECH iron shafts come in two models, R/S (Regular/Stiff) and L/A (Ladies/Senior), with the clubmaker's trimming determining the specific flex. The same is true of the G-TECH wood shaft, which can be trimmed to fit any club in the set -- eliminating the need to stock a different shaft for each club. G-TECH shaft features include:
- Striking black design in R/S models for both woods and irons
- Classic gray styling in L/A models for woods and irons
- Low-resin, ultra-high-modulus construction producing Graphite Design's trademark feel and performance
- .335" (wood) and .370" (iron) parallel tip sizes
- Wood shaft weight of 70 grams at 47", with a torque of 4.9
- Iron shaft weight of 80 grams at 41", with a torque of 3.9
"G-TECH is a great addition to our lineup of high-performance wood and iron shafts," said Victor Afable, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Graphite Design. "It allows clubmakers to streamline their inventories while providing a wealth of fitting options depending on a player's swing profile. For the golfer, G-TECH delivers Graphite Design's TOUR-proven combination of superior accuracy and distance from tee to green."
G-TECH joins Graphite Design's family of high-performance shaft models which includes the YS Series, Purple Ice and Pershing, introduced to wide acclaim in 2006. Last year, Graphite Design's YS-6 and YS-7 combined to earn more graphite wood-shaft model count victories on the PGA TOUR (16) than any other manufacturer.
Also in 2006, Graphite Design shafts were played by 41 winners of professional tournaments worldwide while players using the company's shafts amassed more than $90 million in PGA TOUR earnings. On the Japan Tour, Graphite Design shafts were in the bags of 18 winners in 2006 while the company extended its win streak in the wood-shaft brand count to 134 consecutive tournaments - an unprecedented string dating to 2002.
