Kevin's Comments: Square face drivers seem to be the hot item for 2007...take a look. Compare this driver to the Callaway FT-i Ti Driver that retails for around $500.00!!
Comments from an email I received on 2/26/07 - Good morning Kevin. Well I got the new driver and all I can say is wow!. I've seen a lot of knockoffs and look alikes before but I've never seen one that so closely matches the original like this does. It even swings the same as the Callaway. There is one significant difference though and that's in the shaft (Graphite Design G-Tech). The Callaway shaft can't hold a candle to this one. I'll be playing with it this weekend and will give you a course update next Monday. Thanks. Bruce B.
Sorry for the length on this next email I received 5/15/07, I don't edit them...but I think it's worth your time to read...I sure enjoyed it!!:)
Kevin, As promised I am sending you a short letter describing my initial experience with the new driver you built for me. I'll start from the beginning and work my way up to today. Three weeks ago a buddy of mine bought a new Callaway FT-i driver. He paid $500 for it. We played a few times and he really hit it well and it helped him cut about five shots a round from his score, mainly because he hit it further and more accurate than his old driver. I liked it but could not justify spending that kind of money on one club. My friend Gary and I began researching square drivers on the internet. That is how we came across "PAR 4 Custom Golf". We also found many places (Including Golfsmith) that would make one using similar or the same component head you use, but all of them had limited options for shafts and grips compared to the wide selection you had available. My friend (Mr. Gary F.) decided I should be the "test case" and buy one and if it worked out he would buy one also. I placed my order with you and waited. I received the driver Friday May 11th. It was raining so I could not go to the range. But I was impressed with the quality of the product, how well made it was and the attention to detail in its assembly. The Grafalloy Pro Launch Red shaft in it felt really good just waggling it. I could not wait to hit it. Saturday morning I went to the driving range at a nearby golf course as they have grass tees and I wanted to try it under "play like" conditions to give it a fair trial. After warming up with my irons and fairway woods I pulled it out and proceeded to test it. After 3 or 4 balls to adjust tee height and ball position I was ready to "turn it loose". The range I was at is approx. 230 yds long with a 20 ft high fence at the end. The first shot I hit in earnest detonated like a cannon and cleared the fence by at least 10 ft! Immediately the 8 or so guys on the range fell silent. I hit another the same, over the fence. Two guys stopped hitting, came up to me and said "is that the new Callaway FT-i?" I quickly turned it over showed them the sole and said "what do you think?" and went back to hitting. They mumbled something about being crazy to spend $500 on a driver even if it did hit the ball off the range. I silently agreed with them. Of the 25 or so balls I hit that day half hit the net half way up and the majority of the rest went over the fence. All either went dead straight or had a slight fade trajectory, exactly the ball flight I was looking for. I returned to the same range again on Sunday with similar results. I am now in Kentucky, having flown down Monday morning. Two of the guy's that work for me wanted to go out and play 18 after work last night. As tired as I was I wanted to test the club "on the course" and see if it would work as well as on the range. The first hole, a 380 par 4 I hit driver-PW! I must have hit the driver 280 right down the middle, and I knew I did not hit it absolutely flush. The rest of the round I consistently hit the driver well, consistently straight or with a slight fade. This shaft gives the ball a piercing trajectory with my swing and ball speed. Holes on this course I traditionally hit driver-6 iron or 7 iron I was hitting driver PW or 9 iron. The true test will be Wednesday night when I play with my buddy with the FT-i. I can't wait to see the look on his face when I pull out my TP-i and hit it past him! Thank you Kevin, for all your help, the e-mails and phone calls prove to me you care about customer service as well as attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Well, I am one SATIFIED customer. You can be expecting an order from my friend Gary F. in the near future as well.
THANK YOU! Your new friend, Ed R.
And one more...I received this email on 4/30/08..Kevin, I purchased the Turbo Power TPi Carbon 460cc Square Driver from you last year and wanted to thank you. It is truely everything I was looking for in a driver. Great feel, amzing control and the distance is just rediculous. I have sent friends, family and co-workers to your site. I must admit at first I was a bit hesitant about ordering online but the quality of products and professional serive is second to none. Now I just have to find something I can do with my old irons so you can make me a custom set instead of something off of the store shelves. I can wait and thanks again. Gordon S.
The TPi Carbon 460 Square Driver from Turbo Power is a radical departure from your traditional shaped driver head. It's square shape increases the driver head's MOI (moment of inertia) which, in turn, makes it much more resistant to twisting on off center hits. Add to that, a carbon graphite crown has more weight distributed toward the perimeter of the clubhead and you have a very stable, solid feeling driver. The result is a noticeable improvement in distance and accuracy, especially on off center hits. It might take a little time getting used to the look, but it won't take long getting used to finding your ball in the fairway more often!
